1910s Heidelberg, Wolff & Co. Distressed Black Satin Dress Jacket & Vest Set - Black - 38R

$1,600.00
1910s (perhaps even 1900s) American Dress Jacket and Vest set made by Heidelberg, Wolff & Co. Likely from their famous 644 Broadway location. Black, semi-lustrous satin-like gabardine (I believe) fabric with smooth, luxurious handfeel. Jacket has a wide and boxy fit as was common for everyday "casual" suiting of that period. Lovely fading on the inside, and overall in astounding condition for it's age (well over 100 years old). Completely wearable. Only notable distressing is the thrashing and slicing around the lapel -- great look which adds some textural contrast to the rest of the set. Comes with original matching vest too. My favorite details of this jacket are a single well-worn button on the left sleeve cuff (which I've pictured) as well as the original tag which is in sensational condition and showcases the selvedge lines that abound -- illustrating the quality of construction. I've also included a picture of a receipt from Heidelberg, Wolff Co. that I found online from the Columbia University archives.
