1920s French intricate knit pattern cardigan with incredible distressing. Very rare style cardigan. Front is an intricate wool pattern knit, back is also a stretchy, wool or cotton knit material similar to German work knits. The piece has amazing wear and distressing, as knits like this were often used as a work garment. Many small repairs including pockets having been patched/repaired with another knit material. Original buttons are a beautiful aged saffron color. Despite the wear, the condition is stable and piece is fully wearable and one need not wear it cautiously — piece is not fragile and looks fantastic. 100 years old, and still has stretch and loads of life/wear left in it.
