1930s French Wool Cardigan with Unusual Pockets & Repairs - Black/Faded Black - S

$580.00

Vintage 1930s French Cardigan. Black boiled wool — not itchy. This piece has so many unique features; wooden buttons, paint marks, patches, darned repairs, and some really unusual pockets. The piece was likely originally intended as a women’s work garment, but functions as a unisex piece and can be worn by anyone who the sizing accommodates. Piece is quite slimming when worn, and shape bows in a bit as was common for cardigans, jackets, and vests of the era. It’s quite rare to find pieces in black from this era. This is a great one, in super wearable condition. Wool, as you know, is a real ‘miracle material’, being super warm and insulating in the cold, whilst also being breathable. The only drawback is that old wool pieces often end up in bad shape, and are itchy. This one is in great condition for being nearly 100 years old, is totally wearable, and is boiled and therefore not itchy!
