1920s (perhaps 1910s) French Gabardine (I believe probably a wool gabardine blend) long coat. Fits slim, smart, and falls in a lovely way when worn. See on body pictures. Minimal wear on exterior beyond some sun fading, with the inside showing more lovely visible distressing and signs of age. I love the purple striped lining that was chosen for the sleeves when this was made -- I believe it to be a custom, bespoke piece. Lovely details at cuffs and darting at hand pockets. Darned repair on one pocket too for another subtle detail. When looked at quickly will appear like a smart black jacket, but the longer you look the more subtle, unique details reveal themselves. The fabric, first and foremost, is tremendous and feels like nothing produced contemporarily. These are really rare to come across in this condition and sizing from this era. Sought after and super versatile and wearable piece that will elevate any look/wardrobe.
