1940s wildly thrashed wool cardigan. I’m not sure if this distressing is the result of wear & tear - more likely it’s a result of the way it was washed - perhaps the material was a wool blend, with the blended material disintegrating over time, leaving the wool. Really amazing piece that is wearable, but would also make for a fantastic display item.
