Really cool, and incredibly rare 1920s French Cropped, Pleated Jacket. Shape is wide, boxy, and quite cropped. Three pleats on either side of the snap button closure. Hooks are present for additional closure security on the inside of the hem. Amazing sashiko style darned repairs on both sleeves. Intense sun fading present, most notably on the back of the jacket which has turned the black into an almost gold color. This jacket is made of ‘satin fermier’ material, translating to Farmer’s satin. It feels a lot like a thinner, soft and broken-in moleskin. Essentially, the only difference beyond thinness and hand feel between this and moleskin is a looser weave and subtle sheen. Very rare example here, in a surprisingly contemporary/in-vogue silhouette.
