Vintage 1940s European (most likely German) lightweight knit collared cardigan sweater. Not a scratchy material, instead it’s soft and comfortable and stretchy and lighter weight. Feels like cotton or a cotton/wool blend. Buttons are all mismatched and from various eras/multiple repairs over the piece’s history. Incredible color and sun fading throughout with distressing at cuffs and collar. Fit is simultaneously stretchy/form fitting and loose — incredibly flattering on-body. It’s a perfect piece, a unique example with tremendous wear and color, that’s great for layering and transitional weather. Don’t miss out.
